Job Summary


Minnesota State Community College and Central Lakes College have been awarded a four-year $4.2 million grant from the US Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges initiative to enhance, expand and grow health science education and training programs at both colleges to better meet the labor market and employment needs of west central and central Minnesota. This grant is entitled the Pathways to Accessing Training in Healthcare-Minnesota (PATH-MN).

The PATH-MN Grant Project Manager is responsible for overseeing grant administration, planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of the proposed project. This position provides leadership for communication and compliance with US Department of Labor standards and grant requirements.

The PATH-MN Grant Project Manager position is a full-time 12-month position funded under the terms of the grant and will report directly to the M State Dean for the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing who serves as the Project Director/Principal Investigator for the PATH-MN Grant. The M State campus location of this position to be determined upon negotiation of hire with the preferred candidate. This position will serve both M State and Central Lakes College in support of the PATH-MN Grant objectives. Frequent travel between various campuses will be required.

This is a grant funded position and will continue for the life of the PATH-MN grant. Grant is funded through the end of 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • On a daily basis, live the mission, vision and values of M State to ensure a positive experience for all students and stakeholders. Service to M State students and stakeholders is a core component of the position and work responsibilities.
  • Under the supervision of the Project Director (M State Dean for the School of Health Services, Human Services and Nursing), manage the full range of activities required to implement the PATH-MN Grant.
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day PATH-MN grant activities working with administration, faculty and support staff from M State and Central Lakes College (CLC).
  • Manage and utilize funding agency electronic databases (i.e. Grants.gov, GrantSolutions) to submit timely and accurate proposals and reports.
  • Manage and evaluate the PATH-MN grant budget and financial plan as it relates to grant projects and provide supportive narrative.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science, management, or other appropriate discipline
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing and supervising multiple simultaneous administrative projects.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication, including public speaking
  • Demonstrated fiscal management expertise, including contract administration, developing and monitoring budgets and fiscal reporting.
  • Commitment to diversity as well as a demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in grants management; preferably oversight of federal grants
  • Experience with US Department of Labor grants and the GrantSolutions online portal.
  • Computer software skills sufficient to collect, query, and analyze data and prepare charts, reports, and presentations.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt position with an FTE of 1.0. Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a grant funded position and continuation of the position is dependent upon successful continuation of the grant.

Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
