Automation Engineer / Automation Technician (f/m/d) [Belgium]


 

As an Automation Engineer / Automation Technician, you are responsible for the successful integration of our clients’ assets producing green energy, e.g. solar, wind power plants, biogas, into our Virtual Power Plant. Therefore, you are the technical contact person for our customers. You support them in connecting their assets to our Virtual Power Plant from the initial coordination to the successful configuration and final commissioning.

This is what you like

  • You manage technical projects connecting assets of our clients to our Virtual Power Plant.
  • You find solutions for custom ways of connection and you configure control and automation components.
  • You agree on the technical connection with customers and their service providers and coordinate the integration of new systems.
  • You execute live testing of the communication to the asset (monitoring and control) on site or via telephone with people on site.
  • You follow up on the progress of the project both on the client side and internally.
  • You install / replace hardware on site, coordinated with technicians of the client where needed.
  • You assist existing customers with technical support.
  • Together with the team, you work on the further technological development of our interfaces and connection concepts.
  • You closely cooperate with our technical team in Germany.
  • You like to organize and plan but you are also flexible when changes appear .

These are your qualifications and skills

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in automation or electromechanics (e.g. Industrial engineer with a technical and hands-on mindset) or an equivalent training in the same field.
  • You bring a high level of technical imagination to understand the technical conditions on site, even remotely.
  • You have knowledge of network and control technology in an industrial environment (e.g. PLC, embedded systems).
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in the data exchange of automated systems.
  • Your hands-on mentality and problem-solving orientation help you in your daily work.
  • You are a good and clear communicator and speak fluent Dutch and English. French or German are a plus.
  • You are willing to travel to meet customers on site in Belgium as well as colleagues at our Cologne headquarters.
