Orrick currently has an excellent opportunit! y in the San Francisco office for a Paralegal in the Energy & Infrastructure practice group.
Working under the supervision of attorneys, analysts or senior paralegals, paralegal 2’s supports the delivery of quality legal services to clients by performing technical and clerical tasks that require accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency. This paralegal position supports client business entities (corporations, limited liability companies, private partnerships, etc.) in the area of secured lending, development, construction, financing and acquisitions of complex infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include a wide array of corporate tasks, including document preparation and filing, searches and corporate housekeeping. Has significant working knowledge of all federal and state forms regarding corporations and partnerships, and the Uniform Commercial Code and the filing proce! dures.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’! s degree is required and a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program is preferable but not required.
- Demonstrates good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; plus, exhibits aptitude to develop specific and detailed knowledge and understanding of complex issues and procedures.
- Significant working knowledge of Delaware General Corporate Law, New York Business Corporate Law or California Corporations Code, the Uniform Commercial Code and ability to read and apply business corporation law of other states.
- Strong substantive knowledge of lending and lease arrangements is required. Proven ability to effectively mentor less experienced paralegals.
- Proven ability to delegate appropriate tasks and offer guidance to less experienced paralegals and other support staff.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency ! in Microsoft Word and Excel and Lexis/Nexis and any practice related software.
- May be required to be licensed as a Notary Public in the appropriate jurisdiction.
- At least four years of Orrick equivalent paralegal experience is required to be considered for a paralegal 2 position with the firm.
