Entry professional auditing work examining the accounting systems, accounts, journals, invoices, inventories, and budget and financial records of small and medium size businesses, corporations or local government entities. Probationary period is twelve months, after which time incumbent gains permanent status but may still work at the Tax and Revenue Auditor 1 level. Contacts are with attorneys, accountants and business and government officials. Considerable in-state and out-of-state travel is involved.

Hiring Process: This job requires a written examination (W) . Exams are given in several locations and no appointment is necessary. We encourage you to apply online. If you apply online, you do not have to take a copy of the application to the test center. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU CAN TEST WITHIN 30 DAYS. Online applicants who do not test within 30 days of application will be rejected. Applicants using a paper application must present a completed application form at the test site. Positive identification is required. There is a 90 day re-test waiting period. Caution: Any time you re-take the same test your new score, whether higher or lower, will automatically replace any previous test scores.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, or business administration, economics, marketing, or a closely related field, which must have included eighteen semester hours of accounting. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid West Virginia driver's license and the availability of an automobile are required for employment.
