Accounting Clerk

Location: South Charleston, West Virginia

Description: Mancan is in need of Accounting Clerk right now, this occupation will be situated in West Virginia. A prominent South Charleston hotel is looking for a Supervisor/Manager for their day to day accounting operations and personnel including actively working within each aspect of all the financial deadli! nes/tasks. Requires a general knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger analysis and Financial Statement preparation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all timelines for the department, escalating specific items as necessary
  • Facilitate preparation of financial reports for managers and owners.
  • Prepare operational reports for management analysis.
  • Recruit staff members, and oversee training programs.
  • Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances.
  • Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or outside agencies for collection.
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with General Manager, and staff members as necessary.
  • Perform personnel actions such as h! iring and firing staff, consulting with Human Resources Manage! r as necessary.
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
  • Assist, as needed, with employee benefits and 401K issues
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Training/Work Experience requirements:
Several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training needed. A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed.

Education Requirements:
  • Requires a four-year bachelor's degree. Suitable experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • Master’s degree or CPA a plus.
This position will start at $50,000 yearly, could be higher depending on experience.
