Overview: The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for the execution of all nursing procedures necessary for associate care both in daily clinic visits and medical emergencies. He/s! he will provide care covering all aspects of preventive and interventional occupational medicine. The successful candidate will also lead all wellness initiatives throughout all facilities. Responsibilities: Work with the Human Resources and EHS departments to control workers compensation costs by reviewing all accident reports, early intervention, reviewing doctor statements and medical records. Aggressively manage the Companys return to work program for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Communicates with the attending physician (where appropriate) of employees to expedite treatment, return to work, light duty, etc. Manage all pre-employment testing programs including physicals (when required), drug & alcohol testing, and audiometric testing. Coordinate all testing programs of active employees to include drug & alcohol testing, audiometric testing, annual biometric health screenings etc.. Promote Wellness through programs and individual consult! ations, proactively engaging associates on wellness topics thr! ough communications and events on all shifts. Spends an appropriate amount of time on the production floor engaging associates on wellness and ergonomic topics and follow up with associates on light duty. Partner with the EHS team on First Aid Training and Blood borne pathogen training as appropriate. Maintain active license in state and participate in continued nursing education requirements for license recertification. Ensuring Associates Right to privacy of confidential information. Safeguard the health and safety of employee in work environment. Supervisor/Manager training on HIPAA laws and requirements. Maintain skills and pertinent information to perform effectively in any medical emergency. Maintains high quality assurance of the plant dispensary. Orders medical supplies and medications, controls inventory of such. Is consistently at work and on time; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time; Commits to irregular hours of work when necessary to treat employees fo! r work related injuries. Coordinates quarterly Workers Compensation update calls with TPA, attorney and appropriate company representatives. Wears required safety equipment including but not limited to; hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toe footwear. Qualifications: R.N. or Bachelors Degree in Nursing Experience in an occupational nursing setting or Emergency Room/Trauma, preferred. Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping, and Workers Compensation, preferred Occupational Health background Familiar with WV Workers Comp laws, 301 log Training background will be helpful in this position Familiar with creating and maintaining spreadsheets Typical work day will be 8am-5pm, with the expectation of at least two split shifts a month Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and will be expected to spend ! time on the production floor Must have steel toed shoes, hearing protec! tion and eye protection
