Criminal History Specialist Putnam County Circuit Court is now accepting resumes for the position of Criminal History Specialist. The Criminal History Specialist will improve the completeness, aut! omation and transmittal of records used by the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Applicants should have a good working knowledge of the justice system. Must have the ability to prepare and effectively present written and oral reports, establish and maintain a professional working relationship with staff and the West Virginia State Police; apply existing laws, rules and regulations; possess the ability to learn and apply technology in the course of the job; exhibit attention to details and accuracy; and maintain discreet behavior due to work with sensitive records.
The highest level of discretion is mandatory. Must have a bachelor and/or masters degree in counseling, psychology, social work, criminal justice, or corrections. Relevant experience in the areas of corrections, counseling, social work, and/or criminal justice is preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer.
