SUMMARY:
The Legal Operations Specialist will assist in leading technology initiatives within the NBC Universal Law Department and play a key role in the development, implementation, training and support of the Law Department's document man! agement system (DMS), as well as other Law Department applicat! ions. The role will require interaction with Law Department attorneys and staff, IT and other stakeholders, across NBCUniversal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for learning and knowing Law Department application packages including HP/Autonomy iManage Worksite, Emptoris (contract management), T360 e-billing and matter management, patent
and trademark systems, legal entity management systems, RSA Archer (commitment management) and MS Office applications.

  • Provide appropriate user and technical support, including system administration, for Law Department applications.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the HP/Autonomy iManage document management system and other Law Department applications.
  • Function as regional project management lead in the development and design of the DMS and other Law Department applications, including analysis of user and system requirements, training, support
and troub! leshooting.

  • Facilitate and implement Law Department application system security/programming changes and related tasks as assigned for or requested by users.
  • Assist in the analysis and implementation of document import/export processes and related tasks.
  • Monitor and report on Law Department application statistics and usage activity.
  • Facilitate open dialogue with legal technology team, law department attorneys and staff, internal IT and vendors to identify legal technology trends, issues and solutions.
  • Assist with business requirements gathering, evaluate and make recommendations in the selection and implementation of technology applications.
  • Help manage vendor relationships.
  • Be an independent thinker and have the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4 Year College Degree
  • HP/Autonomy iManage Worksite certification a p! lus
  • Experience with HP/Autonomy iManage Worksite suite in a co! rporate legal department or law firm
  • Experience with third-party applications that integrate with HP/Autonomy iManage Worksite such as Milan
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understand IT infrastructure, networks and operations
  • Significant project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to analyze facts and identify issues
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within an organization
  • Prior IT application training experience a plus
  • Experience working in matrix management environment a plus
