Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Minimum Requirement - Primary Experience :
Must have three years of professional, administrative or business experience.

Education Substitution :
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Additional administrative, business, research and/or clerical experience will substitute for ! the required education on a year-for-year basis.

S! pecial Requirements :

Description of Job Duties

Experience in medical dictation, knowledge of advanced medical terminology, above average knowledge of computers, and working knowledge of computer data bases such as Excel or Access are preferred skills.

Assist Chief Medical Examiner in management and implementation of policies and procedures in medicolegal death investigations pertaining to coroners, law enforcement, attorneys and public at large. Coordinate coroner training classes. Manage NamUS database. Oversee training video classes for EMS, nursing, pathology assistance and other relevant classes requesting autopsy time as part of their formal training. Oversee all evidence collected at the OCME and contacts appropriate law enforcement to collect said evidence. Assists in maintaining logbooks for annual report statistics as well as death certificate data. Responsible for assisting in the interpretation and management of data utilized i! n generating manuals and reports for the Chief Medical Examiner. Assists in generating appropriate bills for physician consults, testimony, and additional billing as needed. Maintain cross reference files on computer and enter ICD codes, toxicology and diagnoses into the database. Transcribe medicolegal dictations of autopsies, finalize reports for distribution. Type from written or dictated material a variety of correspondence, medicolegal reports, records, and preforms incoming and outgoing office correspondence. Place, answer and direct incoming telephone calls. Schedule meeting's, consultations, trails and depositions and maintain online calendar. Oversee and maintain medicolegal reports and consults with discretion. Assists in supervising interns within the autopsy suite to ensure expectations are met. Other duties as assigned.

Upon appointment, employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver's license and required to drive a licensed vehicle.
