Position Summary:
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the mechanical lure for official greyhound races as well as any morning schooling s! essions in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards.
Essential Functions:
Follow all rules of racing and any racing policies that are applicable
Operate the mechanical lure effectively for each official race ensuring a consistent and safe distance is used between the lure and the greyhounds
Maintain the condition of the “rheostat†and any other mechanical devices used in lure operation
Conduct morning schooling sessions as required and scheduled
Inspect the lure rail before each performance to ensure that no objects are in the path of the lure motor
Ensure the proper maintenance of the mechanical lure system, rail and all associated parts
Report any mechanical problems with the lure system to the Racing Manager
Order and exchange any equipment needed to maintain a safe and operable lure system
Retrieve paperwork from the Racing Office to take to the Judges, etc.
Accept th! e official racing weights for all greyhounds from the Scale Cl! erk and deliver them to the Chartwriter and TV Personnel
Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation
Greet guests appropriately, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner
Complete other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
One to three years experience in greyhound racing preferred
West Virginia Racing Commission License required

Works alone 90% of the time
