The Claims Consultant II assists employees in handling multi-state Unemployment Compensation claims. Directly oversees claim handling for client accounts. Reviews all new claims on designated customers and establishes a plan of action to achieve favorable claim resolution. Consults with customers to arrive at information filed in responding to claims. Provides status reports to customers and keeps Account Executives and Claims Manager informed. Investigates, evaluates and analyzes decisions on claims and communicates recommendations to clients. Perfo! rms charge statement and audits, verifies tax reports and calc! ulates tax rates.
Responsibilities:
Request and obtain information from clients in both written and telephonic format
Provide consultative guidance to clients based on superior knowledge of unemployment law
Utilize excellent business writing skills in communications with clients, attorneys and government agencies
Accurately audit monthly charge statements
Verify quarterly tax reports
Correctly calculate annual tax rates
Four year degree in business or related field preferred
Five plus years claims or business related experience
Demonstrated ability to handle complex claims
Ability to multi-task and possess strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong computer skills (specifically Microsoft applications)
Ability to make recommendations in a clear, concise and confident manner
