As a Business Banking Officer, you are primarily responsible for the acquisition of new to bank relationships, actively manage a portfolio o f approximately 100 clients with annual revenues of $.5-$2MM and working closely with our Retail Branch partners. You play a key role in building relationships with our clients and are tasked with delivering an exceptional customer experience, designed to retain and grow these relationships.
Primary focus is on new business development in an assigned territory (extens! ive travel by car required) and relationship management with c! lear expectations on exceeding assigned sales and service goals.
Products marketed include but are not limited to: deposit, credit, cash management, international trade, merchant services and payroll.
Ability to source, structure and present business lending opportunities appropriate for clients up to $2MM in revenue.
Effectively utilize centralized credit support team for both new originations and portfolio management.
Develop a targeted COI (center of influence) list and have a detailed plan to build relationships that lead to referral business to achieve goals.
Act as the primary partner with our Retail Branch teams, including joint calling, coaching and supporting a designated cluster of Branch Managers and Branch Business Bankers.
Build a collaborative internal relationship with key partners (relationship managers, investment specialist, cash management, mortgage specialist, insurance specialist, your place banking, etc.).
Introduce c! lients to appropriate specialist to deepen share of wallet. Joint calling and prospecting with specialists depending on situation.
Utilize salesforce.com to manage your call/relationship management activities on a weekly basis.
Required to make a targeted number of “in person†calls to prospects, customers, COI’s and internal partners weekly & monthly.
Practice sounds risk management protocols and adhere to internal and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- 1+ years in a Business Banking sales role or related business development experience.
- Understanding of core business products and services
- Proven track record of sales and outside calling skills
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop strong customer and colleague relationships
- Local market knowledge and the ability to develop, retain and expand relationships with Centers of Influence ! ie. CPA’s and Attorneys.
COMPETENCY AREAS:
General knowledge in financial modeling and able to structure credit in modeling environment. Able to assist RMs on how to structure the credit relationship.
Exhibits competency at independently reaching conclusions and forms clear view of credit structure and business risk to Bank.
Good understanding of industry nuances applicable to the credits contained within group’s portfolio.
General knowledge of loan and related legal documents.
Strong communication skills; and ability to influences others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutions

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
